The aim is for a person, household, or business to keep useful knowledge under its own control and put it to work through whichever tools fit. Changing an assistant should not mean rebuilding the context behind every decision.

Build on what already exists.

Sovereign Memory Protocol was the starting point. Its draft repository is now public. It is under development as implementation-neutral rules for sovereignty and provenance, including how information can be checked and carried across change.

The approach is to adapt existing tools and standards. Memory engines can handle retrieval, assistants can reason, and applications can handle the work while preserving authority over the underlying information.

There are demonstrated foundations and early application pieces. Repeatable setup and governed follow-through are still being built. Broad interoperability, proactive household assistance, and a standalone interface outside a model vendor’s app remain directions.
